I’m sure I won’t be the first to point out that absent an actual (and probably fatal) hole in the head, what they’ve got there are forehead bialys, not bagels.

What made this so popular? Some bagel-headed celebrity? Some folk legend abouy having a faux anus perched on your forehead? I get why its wierd, but why is it popular?

I had heard the ganguro look came from wanting to look like you went somewhere sunny on vacation, and it just got progressively more exaggerated. But this, I’m drawing a bagel shaped blank (a torus? )

What indicates that it’s actually popular? I see a grand total of three people getting this done at what looks like an art gallery event, and a whole boatload of “Odd News” sites saying “OMG New Fashion Trend, Japanese people are so weird!”
