I think the answer to the first two are “Villain Jazz” and “Yes”. The third seems to be a question teasing for Season 2!
I re-watched the first 6 and finally watched E11 and E12 last night.
Loved it!
I’ll gladly watch more as soon as Amazon puts them up.
NOTE: Hearsay, Unsourced
When the first live action series ran, I had heard that Ben Edlund’s deal with the cartoon allowed him to always and forever do anything he wants with any characters who were in the original comic book… but for any characters who were created for the cartoon, the rights would be tied up being shared with the producers or showrunner for the cartoon series.
Therefore, Die Fledermaus and American Maid became Batmanuel and Captain Liberty for the live action version. At first, I wished they had just created completely new characters rather than creating obvious stand-ins for the cartoon characters. But, ultimately, I ended up really liking Batmanuel and Captain Liberty both of whom ended up being very much themselves rather than cheap knock-offs of the cartoon characters.
I’m a fan of Die Fledermaus too. One of my favorite lines from the cartoon: Heroes are all at the post office collecting their mail, “Hey! A LETTER! Somebody loves Die Fledermaus, Somebody loves Die Fledermaus!”
For the second half of the new Amazon series.
I was happy with the way they worked in “Spoon!” and they played it in a way that I could see it coming back in all its glory.
And I absolutely LOVED how they beautifully and perfectly worked in “Not in the face! Not in the face!”
Also, I really like the re-imagined more involved Dot.
“Every time we flash the ‘Die Fledermaus Signal’ he disconnects his phone and leaves town for a week!”
I finally got around to watching the final episodes. Words cannot describe the joy felt at spotting the shape of the Terror’s escape pod.
