I have seen a lot of articles online that say the anime industry is on a sharp decline. I go to 5 or 6 anime conventions every year, and at none of them does it seem to be going downhill. Funimation does seem to have almost a complete monopoly on US distribution though. What is really happening?
It might mean a sharp or steady decline in revenue or profits. ‘Dying’ isn’t a specific business term. If Funimation has a monopoly on anime in the US it may just mean that it’s no longer a competitive industry.
