And yet, you’re not complaining about the title of the thread, that refers to “the right” being insulted?
Yeah, sure, okay.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt here, but know that “right wing” and “left wing” are terms which have been commonly used in discussions of both American and British politics for decades. For purposes of the American political spectrum, “right wing” = “conservatives,” and “left wing” = “liberals.”
Thank you for these links. This is days worth of looking up stuff. I appreciate that you didn’t think you were wasting your time showing me these links. Thanks
I read all three of these. I went down a couple of rabbit holes, and I learned a lot. Yep, I’m a Centrist.
It’s my understanding that Bud Light has been doing similar promotions with a wide variety of influencers, and not just queer ones, but it’s quite difficult to find evidence of that amid all the hoopla.
I saw a Budweiser commercial (possibly this one) today talking about a program they sponsor that’s awarded thousands of scholarships to survivors of deceased servicemembers. it may be intended to appeal to those who objected to the Dylan Mulvaney promotion.
The Christmas Budweiser commercials with the Clydesdale horses still make me tear up. I never really liked the beer.
They’ve been running the Clydesdale commercials for a long time, but this one seemed new and perhaps was meant to blunt the criticism they’re receiving.
Perhaps they could make one using the Clydesdales being attended to in some rustic mountain setting by the cowboys who starred in Brokeback Mountain.
Then watch the Reactionary Wacko Traitor’s heads asplode as they try to absorb that much cognitive dissonance within one 30-second spot.
This is by far the best Clydesdales commercial ever made. The mens’ commentary is pitch perfect. Have to make some allowances for the state of video compositing art in 1996, but otherwise it’s awesome.
Tough trick, what with Heath Ledger being dead and all.
I agree that’s an obstacle. But … modern CGI / AI is pretty capable. There’s also all the footage from the film to use as feedstock to the process. AB InBev could afford whatever those excerpts would cost to license.
A fun idea for sure.
Except that the characters in Brokeback Mountain were sheep herders.
I think you’ll find that lots of horse-owning cow-herding (or horse-owning cow-herding wannabe) RWTs think sheep herders are less heterosexually manly than they are. Fits right in with the narrative I’m aiming for.
Once the outraged are howling the best thing to do is poke 'em in the eye with your sharpest stick.
“Now I really wish I knew how to quit you!”
That didn’t stop Terry Gilliam….
Not a song I ever had heard of, much less heard. Thank you.
I’m not sure that will help. I think they prefer servicemembers who don’t get deceased.
Quit calling it Bud Lite! That is its Dead Name. Because that brand is dead, and will probably be renamed. And the whole Lite beer label is just fat shaming the more full bodied beers.
That is how rediculous this whole thing is getting.
It’s as ridiculous as one makes it.
