Is the SDMB East-Coast heavy?

From Loaded’s perspective, I’m on the South coast, which is to say the East coast, which is well North of Kam.

We’re GMT +10, baby! :stuck_out_tongue:

East coaster checking in.

I’m not sure that the online status indicator means all that much. Looking at mine, you’d think that I’ve been on the Dope continuously, 24/7, for several years now. The truth is, I just never bother logging out.

The average distribution is about to move ever so slightly westward, because I’m moving from Maryland to the Chicago area next week.

I am an east coaster and I am not particularly heavy.

I live on the East Coast but my minds eye still lives in Louisiana. The Central Time Zone rocks by far in all ways. In the Eastern Time Zone, the evening news starts at 11 pm which most people cannot stay up for unless they are doing blow or crystal meth. That is why people on the East Coast are dumber, poorly informed, less attractive, and more strung out than people in the Central Time Zone. That is a proven fact.

I think you got this thread confused with the one about what would get you pitted.

East

West - Pacific Time Zone.

D’oh! I forgot to mention I’ll be living in the Central time zone.

Only boring people watch the evening News. No one in the East Coast wants to watch the evening news which is why no one cares that it starts at 11. That is why East Coast people are more fun and active and worry less about getting killed.

Fires a couple of shots towards Flander and throws up a rival gang sign

I’m from the East.

And I will cancel you out when I move from Kansas City (Central time zone) to Boston (Eastern time zone) next month.

***That’s ***what those circles mean? I’ve only been a member for 9 years and I never figured that out.

SE (Tennessee), BTW

Up until a few years ago, I lived in the only state* that stayed on Eastern Standard Time all year 'round. Since Governor Daniels and his minions in the state legislature decided we Hoosiers had to join the twenty-first century, however, I’m now on Eastern Daylight Time (along with the Pennsylvanians, North Carolinians, etc.) for most of the year.

* and not even the whole state avoided Daylight Saving Time – for example, the counties adjacent to Chicago were on “Windy City time” all year long

And the count so far is:

US Eastern 19

US Central 2

US Pacific 3

Caspian Sea 1 (either +3.5 or +5 GMT, depending on which website*)

Indonesia 1 +7 GMT

Austrilian Eastern Time 2

I think the ratios will change later in the day.
*clarification desired if anyone wants to chime in

West Coast - Pacific Time Zone. Although I did start out on the SDMB in the Eastern Time Zone.

The population center of the US is currently about 2.8 miles east of Edgar Springs, MO. That would be about 75 miles from my tiny piece of paradise, as the crow flies. We’re currently on Central Daylight Time.

Denver doesn’t have a coast :frowning:

I notice that the population center did not move from the Eastern to the Central Time Zone until after WW2. (1940: Indiana, 1950: Illinois.) I think that speaks volumes right there.
