I’m on the West Coast and every night when I log in to read the SDMB, I see many, if not most, peoples’ usernames with the dark (not-logged-in) circle next to them and few green (logged-in) circles.
Does anyone know the distribution of people in different timezones on the SDMB?
Huh, I thought you were talking about states of mind, not physical location.
A friend of mine from the East Coast moved to California once. He happened to run into a fellow tenant descending the staircase in their apartment building. To hear my friend tell the tale, a look of stupefied wonderment was shining from his face.
“Hey!” he said to my friend. “I gotta ask you something - do you, like, you know, READ? Because… I just, well, for the first time, I just … read a book, and it was SO COOL.”
I’ve been living in fear of of California ever since.
And I hope the legions of Dopers who reside in California will forgive me for sharing this tale. Each and every one of you is making California safer for the rest of us, I have no doubt.
We had a map, once upon a time. IIRC, it showed that overall we were fairly well distributed across the country. Of course, there are more posters in New York than there are in North Dakota, but you get the idea.
West coast of Florida, which makes me a sort of wacky East Coaster.
But isn’t the United States East-Coast-heavy anyways? We got the whole corridor from Washington to Boston; that’s gotta represent a decent chunk of our population right there.
