I read the graphic novel I think it’s based on, and I wasn’t impressed. Is the show any better?
The TV show? No, it was terrible. Its 13-episode run has just ended on what could be a cliffhanger or they could just say the hell with it and let it die right there.
Graphic novel? It was based on a James Patterson book.
And no, it wasn’t good. It started off really stupid, and got progressively dumber as it went on. Then the last couple episodes dropped off a cliff into such mindbogglingly idiotic territory I couldn’t believe anyone allowed their name to be associated with it.
I made it through the show right up until the lesbian couple in the *Antarctic *froze to death because *bats *kept covering their solar panels.
Never read the book, but they did make a graphic novel out of it. It’s not great. _zooGraphicNovel.php | James Patterson
It’s terrible. I watched a couple of episodes, marveling at its terribleness. Then I found out it was based on a James Patterson book and the terribleness made perfect sense.
I kinda enjoyed it. It is ridiculously implausible, but once you get over the massive suspension of disbelief required, it can be kind of funny. I missed the freezing lesbians though…
My favorite part was when wolves overran a prison, and all the guards, with guns prominently on their hips, are running and getting mauled by the dozens. Apparently it occurs to no one to shoot the wolves.
Is the graphic novel based on the show?
I just started digging into this show on Netflix. It’s definitely dumb, but I think I’m in the market for something dumb at the moment. I need to let my brain relax a bit given how crazy things are right now. I especially love the title sequence, with all of those animals staring at the camera in a manner that I assume is supposed to be menacing but in actuality is kind of hilarious.
Terrible! Awful! So ridiculous it is unintentionally hilarious.
