Is there a baking dish BETWEEN 8x8 and 9x13?

Some of my recipes are a bit too much for the smaller 8x8 size baking dish, but spread out more than I prefer in a bigger 9x13 roasting pan.

Is there any standard oven dish that’s in between?

I can’t be the only one with this problem! smack

Amazon has plenty of 9x9’s.

And 10x10’s.

Here’s an 8x10 dish as well.

Wow. My Amazon-hunting game was … off, I guess. Thanks!!

Also, you didn’t say what you were making but I think I’ve made a few things over the years where I’ve take some foil and created a sort of ‘dam’ on one side of the dish to make it a bit smaller.
I can’t find an image online of what I might have done, but if you’re making something thicker that won’t move around too much (like baked ziti), you could crunch up an inch or so of aluminum foil and stick it on one side. It won’t be pretty but it’ll keep the rest of the food from spreading out so thin and you won’t have to buy another pan…of course, there sometimes it’s good to have a reason to buy another pan.

I have a pan somewhere that I bought when I was single, I believe it’s 11x7, and quite shallow. It was handy for stuff like baking brownies, which I hate doing in those square pans, because they get too thick.

How much room do you want? 8x8 pans have 64 in[sup]2[/sup] of space; a 9x9 has 81, a 9x13 has 117. So a 9x9 is actually pretty close to midway between 8x8 and 9x13 in size.

My intention is more for savory dishes or dinners, like casseroles. I’ve done the “dam” idea mentioned upthread to block off part of the pan, but would make good use of a dedicated item of the right size.

For some reason I’d had it in my mind to look for Pyrex, but I see this size is mostly available in metal pans.
And ceramic but they’re a bit pricey for now…

Put a bit extra into a ramekin or two, and you have spare individual servings! I do this sometimes with brownie batter when I’ve gone nuts with additions and there is too much. No such thing as too much brownie batter.
