A discussion about how common it is for older actors to be paired up with much younger actresses got me wondering if there are any stories with a different outcome than you typically see on a show like Modern Family. So is there a book or movie that has a plot similar to this?
A man in his sixties marries a much younger woman and after some deliberation they decide to have kids. He won’t be around forever but his wife is twenty or thirty years younger than him so she’ll definitely be around for their children…
… until she’s not.
Cancer, a car accident, or something else kills her quite unexpectedly, leaving him to raise two or more very small children on his own.
This isn’t what he signed on for but he has to cope with being the reliable parent now because he is all his kids have now.
