I was thinking of starting a thread to see how many countries we could get. I still might but if anyone else wants to, feel free (I’m lazy).

Indiana here, already represented… just thought I’d toss that out to participate before making a small suggestion.
If/when a poll is done, add the District of Columbia. Yeah, not a state, but a pretty significant part of the US. There’s gotta be at least one user in DC. Maybe also an option for US citizens abroad (can think of several users here). It’d give a more thorough view of where US-based users are.
(I guess you could also add Puerto Rico and the outlying territories, but I imagine they might not be hotbeds of SD users.)

How about in every state in every country? That’d be a far more representative poll. It really shits me to tears when you US posters seem to assume that the board is made up solely of US posters.

I don’t think anyone posting on this board for more than 20 minutes assumes every poster lives in the US. But surely it’s obvious that the US has the highest density of posters - after all, this is an English-speaking board based (to the extent that anything internet-based can claim a physical home anywhere) in the US, and is an outgrowth of a newspaper column from the US.
Anyway, a lot of countries don’t even have “states.” Provinces, maybe. And how likely is it that we’ll be able to come up with posters in every subnational division of any countries except the US, Canada, and maybe one or two others? Highly unlikely.
But since you insist, I’ll start: I live in DKI Jakarta. There, one province down, 33 to go. I’m sure we’ll have representatives from the rest in no time!
