I have played Tecmo Bowl, but I can always beat it.
Then there are the QB games where one throws the ball to receivers. pretty boring.
I would just like to play a straight up football game. Doesn’t have to be Madden, just something fun. I have looked on the internet with little success. I live outside the United States in a country where they do not play or watch the game.
Tecmo Bowl = not good. Madden is the only game in town, quite literally, now. EA has exclusive publishing rights to use NFL teams and players. Also, EA opted to not release Madden for the PC starting two years ago. Here’sthe most recent one.
Of course, there’s All-Pro 2K8 which uses historical players, because they’re not gobbled up by EA’s exclusive rights and also the NCAA football series that’s in the collegiate ranks.
Of course, you say you want it “online”, which means what, exactly?
I play goalline blitz. Create players, own teams, strategize. It’s fun, but takes some money to get the full potential out of your dots (players), definitely possible to enjoy it for free though.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=7143952 - my referral link, I’d like the free money, but don’t feel like you need to use it. If you join up, let me know and I’ll do what I can to help you get started.
I’ve played GLB since season 1. I really enjoy it - but it’s not so much a football game. It’s a strategy game, about football. It’s not for someone who just wants to control some players since there’s no live action. It’s all strategy - building players, teams, controlling offensive or defensive strategies, that type of thing. But come game time, all you can do is watch dots move around on the screen and hope you strategized right. Don’t get me wrong - I really enjoy it. But it’s not the typical on-line sports game.
