Is there a name for round sofas with a common back?

The type I’m asking about are shaped a bit like a sombrero- if full the people sitting are facing 360 degrees rather than towards each other and the middle is a common back.

Here are some modern examples:

They date at least as far back as the Victorian era because I’ve seen pics of the Lincoln White House that featured them, though with very high backs and more like this (but without the arms). You mainly see them in waiting rooms, hotel lobbies, or (I’m told) upscale ladies room lounges rather than homes.
I’m guessing they have a name other than round sofa but does anybody know what that name is?

A borne (2nd definition).

Circular settee

When I was doing community theater I was told that this was a pouffe. However, I don’t believe I ever saw it written down, so it’s possible that it was a poof or a poofe or even a pooph.

Aside: the pouffe we “needed” for a show was in another town a 3+ hour drive away and cost $650 to rent that we didn’t have. But we NEEDED it.

Can you guess I was treasurer?

Thanks for that identity. (Borne identity… get it… heh heh).

I’ve done enough community theater to know that making sure poofs are where they’re supposed to be when needed is always the most difficult part of any show.

A pouf is a round/cylindrical footrest or ottoman.

And I believe it is a Turkish word.

Cray computers used to make one, but it was a bit pricey.
