I keep seeing what I think are references to one, but I’ve never seen any links. Is it invitation only?
There used to be, but I haven’t been in there in quite a while, so I can’t say whether or not it’s still going on. They were on undernet for a while, but I think it moved to newnet. Or somewhere else. It’s called #straightdope, I think.

Just pop irc.newnet.net into your IRC client of choice and join #straightdope for a rapid-fire witty exchange of ideas (or a slow discussion of whatever dreck is on the television.)
