Is there a term for misspeaking compound nouns?

Kind of like a spoonerism, which I also do embarrassingly often, but with whole words? For example I just got of the phone with my mom by telling her I needed to run to the store for toothpaper and toilet paste.

I don’t know, but you made me laugh.

It’s called a manwolfism, isn’t it?

Would that be a form of dyslexia?

Nope. it’s called “lysdexia.” :stuck_out_tongue:

Bravo. Well played, Good Sir.

I had a similar thought yesterday but didn’t post. Yours is better than mine would have been.

It’s still a form of spoonerism, I think. Itself a subset of metathesis.
