The Freewwweb install added their name to the title bar of the IE window. It doesn’t bother me, but since they went bust my mother nags me to get rid of the one that’s stuck on her computer.
I’ve tried a couple of tweak programs like Xteq, but the places they have to change it aren’t working for me.
The setting you are looking for is in the registry at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title
Each user may also have a corresponding key at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title
You can change this string to anything you want or delete it to use the IE default.
If you’re nervous about editing the registry, an app called “Tweak Revisited” can do this change (and a few others) for you. You can download it at http://www.zdnet.com/downloads.
Hijack:
Does anyone remember the command line switch used to display all USER.DATs in regedit?
