Is There a Way to Improve Reception on an MP3 Player's FM Radio

My mp3 player includes an FM radio receiver, which doesn’t work very well at work. Is there a way to improve reception?

Thanks!

the headphone cord is used as the antenna. works better when stretched out, so let it hang outside your clothes (if its a hazard then you choose to take the risk or listen to an mp3 with the corded tucked in your clothes). lots of other factors are involved: quality of the receiver (i have a Sansa Clip which is way better than other portables, when reception is bad for a distant station (70 mile) that i can’t get on a tabletop or any other radio, the Sansa gets a signal), usually works better outdoors, outside your clothes a bit away from your body helps, your position and direction will also affect.

so unless you have an always really strong and non-interfered signal with a quality radio then the listening might come and go.

You could plug in the USB cable, and spread it out in the other direction from the headphone cord. I’ve done this in the past.

(It never actually helped, but hey, it’s free to try.)
