I was thinking it would be cool to have a USB device that looks like a single-port hub, except that the connection between the host and the hub is wireless. In other words, have a little USB dongle that’s a transciever that talks to a USB base that looks like a hub. I’d like to be able to have my laptop be completely wireless in my house, but still be able to … uhh … burn CD’s, for instance.
I guess there’s such a beastie for Bluetooth, but the range is too short for my application … has anyone seen something like that with larger range?
Oh, and I’m on a Mac–I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask for a something that behaves like a simple USB hub so it’ll work in all systems–I’m just not interested in a Windows/PC-only solution.
