Is there an App that identifies bird songs?

We have lots of birds here. Due to the vegetation it is difficult to see the singer.

It would be great to have an App like Shzam that would identify the bird with name and a photo.

Does such an App exist?

Android version coming in May.

As an aside: The problem with app development, is if you thought of something, it probably already exists.

Check out the “How to” video on YouTube for SongSleuth… It’s a seriously cool app…

On the AppStore they also have a bat detector, tho it requires a $179 ultrasonic receiver for your iPhone or iPad… still incredibly cool…

That website is NOT iOS 11.whatever friendly… I kept getting “my hovercraft is full of eels” or “my nipples explode with delight” as the scrolling screens completely b0rked up :smack:

Those are really strange bird names.

Not at some of the establishments I used to frequent in my youth…

Is there a database of bird-song samples I can access?

2011 thread.

ETA: Yes, more than one.

The main prob I’ve found with the various databases of bird calls, is, it’s very difficult to search by the characteristics of the sound and pin down an answer as to what bird it is.
However, they are very cool anyway

Thank you very much Ashtura. I read all the reviews and saw the eight minute YouTube video.

Claiming over 200 birds of North America, it is impressive. From the video, you select the state you are in. They have provinces of Canada listed, also. Mexico is in North America. I am wondering if they have included states of Mexico.

Can anyone confirm that?

Gracias.
