It looks like sushi but made out of candy and sweets. Rolls, nigiri, and gundam use the Krispie mix instead of rice. Fruit rollups in place of nori. Other candy ingredients to fill rolls. Green chocolate for wasabi. Green and yellow licorice whips to make up something resembling seaweed salad. I made huge batches of these for Xmas presents. I got a box full of little takeout sushi containers and included a little PC of honey and chopsticks to finish off the look. Candy nachos were also a big hit, but no Krispie mix in those.
Rice Crispie bars and Magic Bars are my sweetest childhood memory. The amount of sugar makes me cringe. But I still eat them once in awhile. But only a couple pieces. I take the rest of the pan to work and leave in the breakroom. It’s always empty when I go home. LOL
I recently made some rice krispy treats with Indian spices. The recipe had chopped chopped dates and cardamom. They were very popular at our potluck and they were a little less overly sweet than the traditional recipe.
For my house, adding a mostly-tart freeze dried fruit is the winning element. Because to me (and my wife) default rice krispie squares at a little too sweet and bland.
So freeze dried raspberries, or other fruit of choice makes just enough of a contrast in flavor to elevate the whole thing. Alternately, candied citrus peel (orange or lemon normally) does the same thing.
And we’ve tried slivered and crushed nuts as well, which were nice, but didn’t provide the strong flavor contrast we wanted.

Or his version with Kerrygold (I bet this would be great, but I wouldn’t waste Kerrygold on RKS personally)
