Is there any evidence the French boycott worked?

True. I saw that when I was hunting for a cite. However, to prove that I wasn’t just pulling it out of my, ahem, hat, I managed to find a cite in The Guardian:

Americans’ boycott of French products in the run-up to the Gulf War resulted in just six paying customers flying on Air France’s Concorde from New York to Paris on several occasions. The shocking passenger load concentrated Air France executives’ minds.

Admittedly I’ve snipped that, so it’s part of a “triple whammy” that also included a fuel leak and possible lack of re-issue of a safety certificate. Still, the low number of passangers pre-Gulf war is specifically blamed on the boycott and, even if it wasn’t normally as bad as just six passangers, would seriously screw the Air France Concorde budget.
