Is There Anything To This Mattress Manufacturer's Claims In This Video?

I am in the market for a new mattress, and I am impressed by the claims in this video. However, I have no idea how to separate hype from reality when it comes to mattresses, so I’m hoping someone here at the Dope can help me.

Are the claims made by the manufacturer about support and why their product is superior to other mattresses valid? Obviously this is subjective, but does the basis of their claim hold any water?

DISCLAIMER: I assure you I am not a shill for Purple Mattress.

Purple - The Raw Egg Test – Is this a legitimate test?

I don’t know about the mattress, but I recently bought one of their pillows via their recent Kickstarter campaign, and it is by far the best pillow I’ve ever used. I’m not sure how one could be any better, at least for me. Not everyone is a happy as I am, but it seems a majority are. When it comes time for a new mattress, I’ll probably get one.

Let’s just suppose for a moment that the marketers designed the commercial first (a mattress that would not break an egg) and then designed a bed to match. Would that be an assurance that the mattress was good for human beings to sleep on?
