Is there going to be a Syberia 2? Also, recommend games by same co. please

Is there going to be a Syberia 2? I have heard both ways, but nothing definitive.

Also, does the same company make any other good games? I really loved Syberia.

Third week of March.

More information and a demo

I can confirm it’s coming out, although I’ll have to take Necro’s word for the time frame. My company is working on the packaging for Syberia II right now (we’re die engravers and the box will be embossed).

Funny you should ask this. We just got the art yesterday and I hadn’t heard of it before that. I’d never heard of Syberia period.

Thank you both for the info (and photo, you are missing out on a great game)

That’s strange. It’s no big spoiler to learn you locate Hans Voralberg at the end of Syberia. I wonder how you wind up bveing seperated. I am so looking for this game!

liirogue have you played The Longest Journey and Grim Fandango? If you liked Syberia then you’ll love those.

Mrs Z really enjoyed Syberia, although the end was very anti-climatic. She is curently playing The Longest Journey and Grim Fandango was the game that I first got her hooked on.

Any other ‘puzzel’ games where the characters speak to each other and not shoot each other?

Dozens of them. They mostly come out of Europe. I should know, because it seems as if I review almost every damn one of them. Go to www.justadventure.com and you should be able to find plenty of them. Just keep in mind that they’re a bit biased, and it’s hard to find a truly objective review of an adventure game. They seem to like them just a bit too much.

The last adventure game I played was Jack the Ripper. I gave it 3/5 stars. Also played Mysterious Journey II (3.5/5 stars) and URU: Ages Beyond Myst (3/5 stars). As you can see, I don’t feel there’s been a stellar adventure game in a while (probably since Syberia, actually).

If you don’t mind going back a few years I suggest Day of the Tentacle, also by LucasArts. It’s really old, and I’m a graphics whore, but in the case of this game the experience isn’t diminished. I don’t know if you could find a copy to buy but the game is easily available through “other means.” Oh, I should say that the characters don’t talk, the dialogue is bubbled.

Just wanted to update this to let the OP know that Syberia II is out (or will be in stores very soon.) Reviews are quite positive from what I’ve seen so far.

Oh yay! I can’t wait! Too bad spring break is almost over :frowning:

Played the demo (absolutely adored the first game) and if it’s any indication, I know where I will be March 22nd (its release date).

Amerzone by the same co. was also good.
