Is there no end to greed?

A Coke machine that raises its price as the temperature rises:

If people keep paying for it, they can charge whatever the heck they want. I wouldn’t buy from that machine (well, except for lading up in December), but I think it is a pretty smart idea by the company as long as it doesn’t adversely affect their sales.

All generalizations suck.

Does it laugh at you, too?

Yer pal,
Satan

I think it oughta sweet talk you.

“Hey, you! Yeah, you, ya cheap bastard! So ya don’t wanna spend an extra querter to cool off? Well that’s fine. I was just hoping someone could take some of these ice, cold, bottles of refreshing soda off my hands. They’re making me freeze! Oh well, at least I’m not getting dehydrated. Man, you’re sweating like Ru Paul in a hot dog factory…”

If nothing else, it’d be entertaining.

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

I think it’s actually a pretty clever marketing ploy. Of course, I’m a big fan of capitalism.

Dopeler effect:
The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

I have this image of a crowd of drunken college students, cheering as the Coke machine they’ve set on fire keeps switching to progressively higher prices, and placing bets on what it will charge once it hits 451[sup]o[/sup]F.

Seale??? you can sweet talk me anyday hon! LOL

things.” --Edgar Degas

Is there no end to greed? Probably not.

Is this Coke machine a good example? Not in my opinion.
I think it’s a pretty clever pricing strategy.
(Apologies to UncleBeer. I’m really not meaning to be a smartass.)
Love that free market, even when it isn’t.

Marketing ploy, pricing strategy, okay. Much better interpretaton, wireless. Hey, I’m just an engineer; I worry about marketing and pricing only after the fact.

Thanks for being so understanding, Unk.

P.S. LOVE that new sig line.

I got my new sig in an e-mail just today. Occasionally something humorous does find it’s way through the rest of the litter. I can forward the entire thing to you if you like.

Notice the test market is for Japan. Only they would let a company pull that on them.

We the consumer did manage to kill DIVX. We can can beat this thing too.

Does this mean the price will also go down with the temp? I’ll just travel with a small fan and set the price myself.

Perhaps it’s set to raise the price according to the temp at Coke headquarters in Atlanta…start saving up for some Coke, man!
