Cause I’ve only been getting one notification for every ten posts to threads I’ve responded to, or so it seems. It would make more sense if I weren’t getting any notifications, but that’s not what’s happening. I have been checking the box, so I know that’s not the problem. I’m posting from home this week, cause it’s Thanksgiving break. Could that have anything to do with it?
Hmm, dunno.
This is the first complaint we’ve had on the subject.
IIRC, it has been modified so that it only hits the FIRST time someone replies to you, so perhaps that’s why you’re getting less, could that be it?
If you’re expecting to hear about every time someone posts in that thread, that’s not how it works nowadays. It did work like that originally and people got LOTS of emails . . . and mostly were displeased about it.

I don’t think so…there were a couple threads that I just now got notification for after a few replies. Anyway, it seems to be working now, so maybe it was just a temporary glitch.
Somebody musta replaced the meth we usually feed the hamsters with Thanksgiving turkey.
Glad to hear it’s back to where it should be. Sorry for your inconvenience.

Is that why the board is thinking of going pay?
To support the drug habits of hamsters.
I’ve actually noticed this, too; but never mentioned it because it was never really an issue for me. Sometimes I’ll get several emails on the same thread, where it looks like every post generated one; but mostly I’ll just get one email, no matter how many replies there were. Always kind of wondered how that worked.
Definitely me too. I get sometimes 5 emails from a post I never visited. Sometimes it works sometimes it don’t.
On a related note, is there any way to turn off the email notification for a thread which you aren’t interested in anymore? I often get notice after notice for threads that I long ago lost interest in. Even though I never visit the link, I still get notices.
The system’s supposed to turn off after the first notice but I guess sometimes it hiccups.
Drop an email to the moderators of the affected forum and ask them to turn it off manually for you.

hmmm… That would be a little inconvinient because it happens with almost every e-mail notification. In fact, it is odd for me to NOT get duplicate notifications. Is this a problem that anyone else has, or is it just me?
