Is this a glitch in my Sims or is EA trying to teach a life lesson?

My favorite Sim of the moment Heddy Nist. She writes romances with names like Hard Kiss, Hard Fist and Keep It Slick. She graduated college by sucking (up to) her professors despite spending every free minute drinking and drugging and trying to sleep with every student she impresses with her pool table tricks.

She continued her hard drinking, promiscuous ways after college and, as happens, accidentally got pregnant. Being pregnant did not stop her bar hopping ways at all. In fact, she was on her way to a Waylon’s Haunt when the baby came.

Baby Daddy has moved into the home to help her care for her child and she’s tried to straighten up by not going out so much and throwing killer parties at home instead. But here’s the thing. The baby, now a toddler, won’t learn.

He did gain a music skill playing with the xylophone but his meter filled to half-way on his talking, walking and pooping skills at the regular rate and then stopped. No amount of mommy or daddy time teaching will move the skill meter. I can’t help but wonder if this is a glitch or does The Sims have a FAS baby mode.

Wait, The Sims actually has a pooping skill? They’re going into way more detail than I realized.

Toddlers have a toilet training skill. The kid’ll poop in the potty but won’t learn a thing by doing it.

Sorry to hijack, but is this Sims 4? I’ve noticed it doesn’t have great ratings. What do you think about it overall?

No, not Sims 4. I thought I put 3 in the title but I didn’t. From what I understand, Sims 4 doesn’t even have toddlers.

You can do drugs in Sims 3? What expansion am I missing?

What do you think those “herbal teas” and bubble machines are?

I know this is mostly meant as a humorous observation about an oddly coincidental chain of events in Ms. Nist’s tumultuous life, but I vote glitch.

Are you current with your updates? I went back to the game (not recently, several months ago) after a long hiatus, started a young adult Sim, and then watched as nothing I did kept his mood meter from going very-angry red. Turned out I was missing a patch and after I updated I was good again. I wish I could remember specifics, like what patch number it was or whatnot, but it’s been too long. Hardly matters anyway, since I’m sure there’s been several patches since.

Though wouldn’t it be cool if the developers had anticipated this very thing and really are sending you a message?
