So, my name is Jana. I recently left a debate board and found this one. I’ve already engaged in the debate forum… I love a good debate, snark and all provided it’s witty and well placed!
OK, so a little about me. I’m 51 and the mother of two boys, 8 and 5… Yes, I got knocked up the same way everybody else did, no I didn’t have any medical help and no, I have no idea how I managed to still be able to get pregnant at 43 and 45! Lucky me :o Their father and I are divorced and share custody equally.
I’m in a biracial relationship (He’s Black, I’m quite White) but we are embarking on a hiatus from the relationship while he deals with some “issues”. Where that will wind up remains to be seen. It’s at my insistence but not without trepidation and sadness.
I’m pretty much a far left, bleeding heart liberal, so damned excited about the new face in the White House I can barely contain it!
I have a job, I’m the sales and marketing director for a family entertainment center in Houston, TX. I hate TX, or at least Houston… Austin is pretty damn cool, my kind of town. I’m a Yankee by birth (Connecticut) but grew up on the West central coast of FL and have lived in TX for twelve long years.
So, that’s me and I really like what I’ve seen here thus far and look forward to getting to know some people. Thanks for having me!

I think it’s odd that people on the left often accuse people on the right as being hate-filled, yet often seem to define themselves by what they hate. :dubious:
Just to get you up to speed, I’m known by everyone here as being the smartest and most handsome member around. If you can remember that, I’m sure we’ll get along fine.

LOL. You guys are fun! We on the left, who expouse hate, only expouse that hate when it comes to things right… Like Houston TX! Austin on the other hand is very left so a love of Austin, in the face of a hatred for Houston, is good!
I don’t just hate TX because it’s a blood red state. I hate it because it’s HOT, there is too much traffic, it’s basically an ugly city but I do love our restaurants, our museum district and all the “criminal aliens” who I love to defend at every opportunity!

I bring no beer because I’m a recovering addict so I don’t indulge, therefore, I have none to bring and I work from a home office and abject laziness prevents me from getting out to the store to buy you some. I have no chocolate to offer as I’m dieting and, same deal… None here, no store, etc. I will however offer up my bbq’s rutabega and wish you a bon appetit!
