I’m talking about the Chris Christie PAC, leadershipmattersforamerica.org.
Notice that the acronym would be LMFAO.

Yes it’s real.

Why can’t it be both?
Yes, it can.
WTF?
Over 40 doesn’t mean stupid or out of touch. I’m over 40 and I got it immediately. And get off my damn lawn!
Does anyone else think it’s too much of a stretch to include the O for the dot org? Has that convention been used for any other acronym?
Yeah, I noticed that. It’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s still funny.
Right. Someone who’s 40 today was born in 1975, and so was 20 when the Internet took off.
They’re operating on the old idea that “middle aged” means “didn’t grow up with anything more advanced than an eight-track”, which is about as old-fashioned now as thinking “old man” means “hitches ol’ Dobbin up to the wagon to go to town on Sunday” (from a common trope in the 1930s or so to have old people be rural yokels who are utterly slack-jawed at how fast them new Fords go nowadays).
And, of course, it’s possible for people to keep up with technology well into their post-retirement years. It just isn’t the stereotype, which seems to be that people stop learning new things at around 35 because their job and, therefore, their life remains absolutely static for decades on end and I hope you can see the sarcasm in this sentence.
Nixon had the Committee for the RE-Election of the President.
Honestly, if you use LMFAO regularly, it makes me think that you are an over-40 using what you think is current youth slang even though it’s like 10 years old. Or you’re a fan of terrible music.
Ah, CREEP, the most accurate acronym ever! Seriously, if there was an Oscar of acronyms, it should have won a lifetime achievement award.
Also, the closest thing to “honesty in advertising” I’ve ever seen in political marketing. ![]()
I actually think Love My Fat Ass is a better acronym
or
Lick My Fat Ass
or
Laugh at My Fat Ass
“Over 40”? If you’re just over 40, then YOU get off my damn lawn, kid, or I’m gonna call your mother! And wipe that snot off your nose! ![]()
IIRC, according to John Dean they came to really like that acronym and regularly used that themselves.
I’m reminded more off all the Tea Partiers who used the phrased “tea bagging” and even called themselves the “teabaggers” until someone finally told them what that was a slang term for and by then it was too late and they were tagged with it.
