Is Trump confused?

(NYT quote above, not @Kolak_of_Twilo’s)
“Sometimes” incoherent statements?

Yeah, even when they go there the NYT still has to soften it up. “Sane-washing” is the new term for what they are doing.

When they say “season liberally” they aren’t kidding.

They are VERY upfront about their political views, so it’s surprising that you’ve missed it. But now that you know, you won’t be able to un-know.

Do you buy their stuff in a brick-and-mortar store? Maybe it isn’t as obvious there. I only shop with them on line, and their proud progressive bias is impossible to miss. I adore them.

I suspect it’s more, “Hey, do you remember when I was allowed to be racist? Wasn’t that cool?”

I buy a lot of my spices from Penzey. They have consistently great quality spices. The local Indian grocery store has cheaper spices that are a little lower in quality, but Penzey’s is far cheaper, and fresher, than the little bottles in the supermarket.

Despite agreeing with their political views, I’d kinda prefer to get my spices without a side of politics. But it’s a fine source, and i but from them regularly.

Just checking, but I read the offer as $5.95 for .9 oz of Garam Masala, which is ten times more expensive than what you quote.
I can only recommend to write .9 as 0.9, as we do in Europe (actually we write 0,9 which is even better) but I know it is futile.

We write 0.9 oz in the US, too. Periods can get lost even without software that might drop them.

Yeah - I noticed that this morning. $5.95 for 0.9 oz isn’t bad, but the local spice shop up the street from my church is a little less, and I know that it’ll be fresh. I’ll stick with them. That’s also the only place know to get Kashmiri masala.

So is just calling it 25 grams.

Back in '92 I think they only had the one store, and I ordered online because I was heading overseas. I also ordered online from Anchorage, but was only paying attention to product, not opinion. In Portland, we shopped at Savory Spice, because local is usually fresher. Here in MN, there is a Penzeys right down the street from us, but I’ve never noticed anything political there.

Trump’s tirade is ridiculous, of course. He’s never shopped for anything in his life, other than a Big Mac. It’s just his five-year-old self lashing out like the bully he is.

Funny, but I don’t think he puts that much thought into it. He’s trying to cast Harris as way too far left. Who does he think of? Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are both regarded as strong progressives. Then he pulls out his ties old derisive comment for each. That’s his playbook. Be can’t just say her name, he has to deride her, and that’s the line he fixed on before.

I must say that looks very expensive to me. Are those prices typical?

I can get a 100g bag of Garam Masala at my local Sainsbury’s for £1.40 – 90p if I use my Nectar card.

I think Indian food is considered more exotic in the US. Also, it’s a different mix of spices, but without a taste test I can’t comment on quality. The Penzey’s version is $13.49 for 3.2oz, which is just under 91g for comparison. And £1.40 = $1.83 at the moment. The Penzey’s had better be a lot better.

Anyway - how about that Trump guy? Do we think he’s ever eaten Indian food in his life? Would he be less confused if he had?

As i said above, my local Indian grocery stores are cheaper (but not as fresh) for the spices they both carry. But Penzey’s has a very wide line of spices, and is one of the few places i can buy spices in bulk, which is always cheaper than buying little bottles. Since i use a lot of spice, i like to buy in bulk. Also, it’s a nuisance to get to the Indian grocery, so there’s gas and the nuisance of street parking to consider, too. Penzey’s is convenient and high quality.

Probably, and i bet he complained for days. And no, he’d still be confused.

I’m not trying to be a dick here, but wouldn’t the discussion on spices be better suited in its own thread?

We’re not allowed to post recipes in this forum but they never said anything about ingredients… :smiling_imp:

But yes.

Well, if you’re going to get salty about it.

Don’t make me pepper you with insults.

Trump’s supporters think he’s a sage, but he’s cumin off as being very confused to many. His handlers have to treat him ginger-ly. His thyme has passed. Sesame, anyway.
