Is Trump confused?

Wow. So I was looking at this Haitian immigrant topic. I ran across this article about a possible source of the “Haitians eating cats” rumor.

Basically, on August 16, a woman was arrested for stomping a cat to death and then eating it. “TRUMP WAS RIGHT!!!”

EXCEPT the woman is not a Haitian immigrant. She is an American with no ties to Haiti. I her court case, she is claiming insanity.

And this crime happened in Canton, Ohio, not Springfield.

So how did this make it to the version Donald Trump spewed?

A parody news site on Instagram, Fake News Network, took the video of her arrest and posted it as a story about Haitian immigrants in Springfield.

That’s right, the source of this rumor is from a parody site. I am trying to find out more about this Instagram channel, and their motivations for the story.

Meanwhile, according to The Guardian, a neo-NAZI group Blood Tribe seized job this incident and publicized it, using the video from the parody site.

So hard right groups, with ties to and members from neo-NAZI groups circulate this FALSE story about Haitians being illegal immigrants, and eating pets.

Along comes that previously mentioned Facebook post about “a neighbor’s daughter’s cat going missing”. Story gets to JD Vance, but also likely to Lara Looper, who probably is the one who told Trump.

So much to unpack here, but that’s what I’ve uncovered.

Without seeing the New York Times article, it’s hard to say.

As you probably know, there was no building allowed there for decades—for obvious reasons. But eventually someone’s greed overcame good sense and they started building houses there. So the slippage now makes for a bigger story.

Trump’s being in the area is quite the metaphor.

Trump IS clearly confused here, as his “brilliant” insult-nickname wasn’t Kambabla—it was Kamabla.

Poor Donald. Next he’ll try “Kabambabla” and see how that goes.

That was from Three Dog Night, but – inexplicably – after their recent concert in Port-au-Prince …

All I can find is this Greek singer - SNIK

Para bailar La Kambambabala
Se necesita de tener
Un poco de gracia…

(Modification of popular Los Lobos song.)

He says “snik … they sneaked” before the clip cuts off. To me, it looks like he just mispronounced the word snuck. Hard to say for sure without seeing a longer clip in context.

Trump gets into a jam with Nicky:

I volunteered today at a voter registration event at a community center. One of the other volunteers is a retired nurse from a psychiatric hospital. I asked her for her official opinion of what’s wrong with Trump and she said, “he’s fucking nuts.”

Yes, I’m not prepared to jump to that conclusion without more video.

Nitpick: Richie Valens did it first.
Well, before that, it was a folk song from Veracruz state, Mexico (might have a recognized composer — not sure).

An AI video from “Dark Brandon” channel. About six minutes, and as funny as it is poignant and incisive:

A Very Strong Case Why MAGA Voters Are Stupid

And to save you the trouble of Googling a reference from within:

Because facts matter.

Perhaps that shouldn’t have made me laugh, but it did.

Interviewer: Why is cryptocurrency important?

Trump: AI needs twice the electric we have, more electric than anyone’s ever seen, nobody knows how much electric it uses, but I’m gonna build the electric like they do in China

And people want that idiot back in the White House.

My wife chats with people she meets out walking. One of her regulars is a doctor. He’s quite liberal, but unsurprisingly a lot of his peers tend to be Republicans. The psychologists in his circle all remote diagnosis Trump as descending into dementia/Alzheimer’s.

Her longer quote was “you could work on him for years and never figure out what all is wrong with him.”

Surely figuring out his problems would require some degree of self-reflection and self-honesty on his part. So of course you’d never figure it out. If he were ever going to have any degree of self-reflection, he’d have surely had it by now.

Trump’s confusion seems to be rubbing off on his mini-me.

Everyone: ‘But… Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hasn’t been assassinated.’

Vance: ‘It’s metaphorical!’
