Trump is old enough that he is likely often exhausted between public appearances, but young enough that he can hide it, for a few hours, when he knows it’s really important.
Trump is Teflon coated like no other politician when it comes to making bigoted extreme statements. He probably was not even hurt by turning DJ. And I do not see examples of confusion hurting him by themselves. But if it became really obvious that he’s exhausted, that could give Harris her needed last minute bounce.
Trump’s best strategy now may be to stay constantly in the news with, outrageous tweets and truths, without risking public appearances.
Note that in that live Fox appearance this AM, Trump is inexplicably sitting on a black towel.
