Is Trump confused?

Holy shit. Sometimes I daydream about doing “gotchas” with Trump supporters … “so, what would you think if Biden or Harris spent 20 minutes talking about Arnold Palmer and his dick? Would that be a sign that there is some cognitive problem going on?” And of course, the Trumpy would say yes. And then, the next day Trump would blather on about Arnold Palmer’s dick, and I’d say, “well, what do you think now?”

The problem is that even in fantasy world, as alluded to by @DavidNRockies, you can’t predict what Trump will say next. No bingo card could capture it.

I have, “I rode in an alien spaceship”, on my bingo card.

20 minutes and not one mention of how Trump suggested to Palmer that iced tea and lemonade would taste great together?

Well, there was one moment where it sounds like he was going to confabulate a story of how he, Donald Trump, was a better golfer than Arnold Palmer.

There’s a guy who does that online. In one video, he talked to a Trump supporter about Biden getting out of Vietnam by getting a doctor’s note stating he had bone spurs in his feet. The Trump supporter started going on a tirade about how this was typical Biden behavior, a man who didn’t care about the country until she was interrupted by the interviewer who said something like, “Oh, sorry. I meant Trump.” The expression on this woman was classic deer in the headlights as she struggled to make sense of it all. I’ve seen the same guy ask similar questions about Biden only to tell the person he actually meant Trump and he gets a similar reaction.

It’s similar to the reaction from Lauren Boebert when she was grilling a government employee about something from 2020. The person testifying said, “Again, that was under the previous [Trump’s] administration.” Boebert sheepishly dropped the subject because you can’t criticize Trump.

“Hello, this is Jose Rodriguez. I’d like to know where do I dispose of my illegal migrants?”

“Do you think Biden calls people up and says, I’d like to see a plant? I don’t think so. He wants to just go. He wants to go to sleep. And she wants to do other things. We don’t know what they are. We’ll find out.”

“Do you know what an unrealized capital gain is? I’ll tell you what it is: communism.”

You missed an important word. He said "And she wants to do other things. We don’t know what they are. We’ll find out unfortunately. That really sounds like he is saying that we will find out what she does as president.

So, will tonight’s SNL have time for a hasty rewrite to add a dick joke?

His staff is telling him he’s going to lose and he can’t fire his way out of it. That’s why he’s backing out of interviews, doing multiple rallies and Fox appearances to the point of exhaustion, and making insane promises like “no taxes for life if you’re a veteran”.

Luke Beasley? I’ve not seen that particular one, but he’s done similar things.

Got a link, by any chance?

It was either Luke Beasley or Jordan Klepper from The Daily Show. I don’t mean to pull a “my post is my cite,” but after a cursory search for the specific interview I just couldn’t find it. I imagine if I searched for it I might come across it.

I guess, although what difference does it make at this point. They’re all in, the facts literally don’t matter. The material is secondary to the bias. So the gotcha has no impact, changes no minds anyway.

I think this person has been doing these kinds of interviews for a little while. But I agree with you, at this point what difference does it make? I try to give regular people some leeway when they say stupid things during an interview. It can be stressful and we all have mental gaffes from time-to-time, just today I myself was confused by the question “Who was your favorite president when you were little?” Some of these answers are beyond stupid though. In 20+ years, historians are going to look at those interviews and people are going to have to answer some uncomfortable qustions from their children and grandchildren. “How the hell did so many of you fall under Donald Trump’s spell when it’s clear he’s a liar and a grifter?”

And a narcissistic amoral sociopath? And a fascist, populist treasonous traitor?

They’ll just make sure the schools don’t teach that. Hell, 50 years from now they’ll be claiming Trump was a leftist just like they do with Hitler.

Not bingo but I did get 13 points for Arnold Palmer in the 2016 SDMB death pool. Maybe I should have gotten extra points because of the size of his dick.

Yeah weird doesn’t even cover it. For the umpteenth time this election cycles: does anyone remember Howard Dean? Who doomed his presidential campaign by yelling too loud at a rally. And yet we have Trump going on a senile rant about Arnold Palmers todger for 10 minutes and is still running at about 50-50

At the it appears at least some parts of the mainstream media are starting to call it like it is:

A point an inch is generous enough.
