They loved it. Thought it was the most amazing speech ever.
There’s nobody at one of those rallies who isn’t going to vote for trump. He could say that they should all go vote for Harris, and they would still vote for him.
I’ve seen post-rally interviews with attendees who said they’ve decided to vote for Harris now. There are the devoted fans who follow Trump from rally to rally in their RVs like the world’s saddest Grateful Dead tour, but I think a majority of the attendees have to be locals who are just curious or are at most casual Republicans who don’t pay much attention to politics, and some of them are definitely being turned off by what they’re hearing or we wouldn’t be seeing video after video of people leaving in droves while he’s still talking.
That’s because the transcrption cut out the explaination. Where the ellipses are, he explained that foreign countries are sending over people like Hannibal Lector when they empty their insane asylums. It is in the video.
He still doesn’t understand that political asylum and insane asylum don’t mean the same thing.
On that note;
I see a couple of people in garbage man cosplay.
The best explanation I’ve seen for that is that the guy who played Lecter on TV (one of the Skarsgards?) said something in an interview like “I can understand why people find Trump appealing” and he took that as an endorsement, but it’s still fundamentally weird.
In the Rolling Stone article that quote is from, they speculate he confused Hopkins with Jon Voight who did say “I love Donald Trump”.
Who the hell could possibly confuse those two?
Oh, wait, I just remembered who we’re talking about.
Mads Mikkelsen.
Well, one of them was Tom Cruise’s boss in a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie, while the other — hey, wait a minute.
Not so. In 2021 they refused to hear his “fixed election” claims. So far the biggest helping hand has been limited Immunity, and we dont know if a previous president might have got the same deal- trump is the first who wanted or needed it (Nixon left more or less quietly).
Right.
Because they overturned the 2020 election based up his request, right?
“We have had the biggest rallies in history of any country, and every rally is full. You do not have any seats that are empty. You did not have anything.”
“Could you do something with the handle of that chair, could you do something? Like what, sir? Ding ding, ding ding ding ding, psh, it’s like a piece of art”
“I consider myself to be the father of fertilization” (Waiter, I’m afraid I’ve lost my appetite)
You and @Smapti have a lot more faith in the integrity of the majority of the Supremes.
IMO, SCOTUS didn’t overturn the 2020 results because the cases were so patently bogus. I expect MAGA to be better organized this time around. I hope I’m wrong.
That might explain where this “drain the swamp” schtick comes from though…
If anyone is going to pull a weekend at Bernie’s, I would have guessed Sanders.
Trump had a rally in Salem, VA……suddenly declaring that he thinks he has a chance in VA.
But I have a suspicion that there was another reason. I’m thinking that they meant to book a venue in Winston-Salem NC and fucked up, 4 Seasons style. All the blathering about VA being the newest swing state was just cover for their incompetence.
You dont think they will be bogus this time around?
Not faith. Just an understanding of realpolitk. As much as the conservatives on the Court may favor Trump’s policies, they know that if they help him become a dictator they’ll be making themselves obsolete. If it comes down to it, they’ll choose to preserve their own power over enabling him.
