Is Trump confused?

You’re certainly right he’s signing the orders and he’s giving the “I did that and it was the bestest evar!” speeches.

Is he the one coming up with the specific ideas behind whatever he’s signing today? Is he implementing a plan largely of his devising, at least at the high level, or is he increasingly erratically and un-insightfully playing the role he’s been stage-managed into while his trusted family members tell him just how much money they’ve stolen or grafted each day on his behalf?

In the first term the cabinet was notably dysfunctional with various factions winning and losing favor almost daily. Whether that chaos was trump’s deliberate goal as a management technique or was just a crazed byproduct of his shambolic thinking was never really adequately proven.

We see the same thing beginning to unfold here. There’s purposeful stuff mixed in with random stuff. Is one smoke and mirrors and the other the real meat? Probably.

I didn’t say anything about that. My comment is that something has dramatically changed.

Trump is ego driven to obsession. He is vain. His appearance has been a big thing for him. Witness dyed hair to hide the gray, “bronzer” to give color to his pale skin, multiple hair surgeries to hide his balding, and alleged lifts in his shoes to look taller.

He commissioned a painting of himself that looked trimmer and had better hair style.

His appearance has always been important to him. Now suddenly not only is he not dying his hair, he’s showing his baldness - something he’s fought his entire adult life.

I’m saying there is something wrong with him, besides his politics, moral code, and personality. Something is different.

I noticed that too. I hate to see his ugly mug but it’s almost impossible to ignore.

Looks like he’s been thrashing around in a clothes dryer or maybe a lottery ball machine these days.

i’ve noticed it since the summer of 2024. i saw a picture of him at a rally and his hair looked flatter and thinner.

something more that his usual oddity is happening.

It’s worse than that. He wasted carefully conserved water to support the farms during the drought of summer by releasing water that won’t go within 100 miles of the fire zones. And almost caused disastrous flooding in the process.

It’s not that he doesn’t understand the intricacies of water management. He doesn’t have the first clue about geography, water use, which way water flows in a given region, or any of the concerns of the people who live there. He’s completely ignorant of even a basic level, and he’s proud of that ignorance. He thinks he knows better than the experts who run the water plan because of politics. Clearly they are wrong, they are liberals.

I can just imagine him giving the following speech.

“They needed water well I gave them water in fact I gave them so much water that they said ‘Please, sir, stop giving us so much water.’”

And thinking that that was proof of what a good president he was.

Agreed, I think he’s going to say he gave them they water they needed and they wasted it. Nevermind that it was logistically impossible for them to do anything with it. It was still the State’s fault for not figuring out how to make use of Trump’s “benevolence”.

He didn’t seem as orange as well.

The US has lots of lumber. Sorry I couldn’t get the picture bigger.

I’m bringing this over from the pit because it definitely fits here.

Trump thinks airline tickets cost $2, or nothing. Seriously. Watch the video in the linked article.

Trump attempts to talk about air traffic control;

Plus an extra dose of “south means down”;

Don Jr’s religion went up 25%;

Ahhh, the National Prayer Breakfast. That must be from whence his stoopid declaration that there’s not enough religion and something about that being a big problem and we’re gonna work on it :face_vomiting:

From Trump’s media post:

Chuck Schumer is a Palestinian that will be resettling out of Gaza? Say what now?

Schumer was born on November 23, 1950, in Midwood, Brooklyn, the son of Selma (née Rosen) and Abraham Schumer. {…} He and his family are Jewish

I’ll take anti-Semitic dog-foghorns for $200 Alex.

I would guess that, but it just doesn’t make sense. Calling Chuck a Palestinian that would be resettling out of Gaza is just freaking odd.

Declaring that Jews (and others) that do not wholly support Israel are disloyal to their real country (boy there’s a fossilized anti-Semitic trope) and are Hamas, Gazans, and/or Palestinians has been a thing for a while now.

He doesn’t understand one fucking thing about the history of the Middle East. Just astounding.

“Chuck Schumer is like a Palestinian now” has been one of his standard applause lines for over a year now.

Wow, I totally missed that. Thanks for education.
