John Gartner, the respected psychologist who started this whole thing, says that dementia is a unique condition. Unlike other mental pathologies, which typically require in-depth interviews and other tests, dementia is primarily diagnosed by simple observation (and the observations of loved ones).
MRIs and other such tests may buttress the diagnosis, but it’s principally watching and listening and concluding, “Yeah, that guy has dementia.” Trump has given us a large sample size for observation. An expert (frankly, even a non-expert as it progresses) can absolutely determine the existence of dementia simply by observing someone like Trump who gives us daily opportunities to take a gander.
And he is well insulated from other ways we assess dementia—paying bills, feeding himself, opening mail, etc etc. My mom had dementia but was “lucid” in that she had scripts she could still run, but couldn’t do any of that other stuff. She was a model of coherence in comparison.
Just out of curiosity, I googled the age at which father Fred started to show signs of dementia, just to get an idea what kind of timeline might be in store for the son.
Now, to get all disclaimery, a parent having Alzheimer’s is a possible indicator of increased likelihood of a child getting it, but is by no means a certainty. So the following is all purely speculative, but this thread is speculative, so here goes…
In October 1991, [Fred] Trump was diagnosed with "mild senile dementia, with his physician citing symptoms of “obvious memory decline in recent years” and “significant memory impairment”. A few months later, another physician reported that [Fred] Trump “did not know his birth date [or] age”, amongst other difficulties.
In October 1991, Fred Trump would have just turned 85, less than 8 years older than donald is now.
But Fred probably showed significant signs of mental impairment for quite some time before the official diagnosis. The kind of mental issues that would be less than ideal in a sitting President. And donald trump loathes exercise, is obese, and certainly does not challenge himself cognitively, so if dementia is in store for him, he’s not doing anything to stave it off; quite the opposite-- his bad health habits would be prone to possibly accelerate oncoming dementia.
In fact, in the article below, more than half of the 10 factors linked to increased risk of Alzheimer’s probably apply to trump, and ‘heredity’ isn’t even one of the 10:
Biden is DISINFORMATING and MISINFORNATING our GREST citizens about how Loser Donald wants to repeal Obamacare, which he has apparently supported all along and wants to expand.
Well given that Loser Donald is about to be broke, and seems to be in need of significant maintenance care, perhaps including a locked memory facility, it’s only logical that now he wants to expand Obamacare so he can get some for himself.
Like a lot of conservatives, they’re all for self-sufficiency until suddenly they need a hand, then some good old fashioned American Socialism is just the ticket. As long as nobody calls it that to their face.
I figured this had to be fake. Nope. Found it on Truth and still appears identical including the very odd choices to not have IN UPPER-CASE! That lower-case “or” really makes the surrounding words pop!
