“We don’t need that extra speed,” the President said of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System.
Earlier this week, President Trump continued to press his attack on a U.S. Navy system that uses magnetism to launch aircraft from aircraft carriers. At an event on a Japan-based navy warship, Trump reiterated his claim that the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, or EMALS, is inferior to the use of steam catapults to get airplanes in the air.
Trump:
“You know the catapult is quite important. So I said what is this? Sir, this is our digital catapult system. He said well, we’re going to this because we wanted to keep up with modern [technology]. I said you don’t use steam anymore for catapult? No sir. I said, “Ah, how is it working?” “Sir, not good. Not good. Doesn’t have the power. You know the steam is just brutal. You see that sucker going and steam’s going all over the place, there’s planes thrown in the air.” It sounded bad to me. Digital. They have digital. What is digital? And it’s very complicated, you have to be Albert Einstein to figure it out. And I said–and now they want to buy more aircraft carriers. I said what system are you going to be–“Sir, we’re staying with digital.” I said no you’re not. You going to goddamned steam, the digital costs hundreds of millions of dollars more money and it’s no good.”
I’ll definitely call this part of his mental decline. This isn’t a stump speech for the chumps who vote for him, this is a closed doors conversation with the GOP. Whatever craziness he spouts for the proles in public, I’ve not heard reports of this kind of rambling before in private (he’s said even more terrible things in private obviously, e.g the Access Hollywood tape, but there was nothing particular rambling and incoherent about that)
And then the APs take on it, I really don’t buy the idea that mainstream media is deliberately trying to boost Trump, but this kind of shit is really making it hard not think that:

Now, here is another one from the AP.
That one had a sick burn; “infused with the symbolism of his return as the U.S. president who threatened the American tradition of the peaceful transfer of power”.
And if you notice, the AP did explicitly mention the Jan. 6 attacks in that first post. Which made me realize… That wasn’t meant to praise Trump after all. By bringing up the coup attempt, it was a dig at him.
Anyway, if we’re going to debate whether the AP is on Trump’s side or not, that probably doesn’t have a lot to do with Trump being confused. (Though it’s kind of making me confused to try to read between the lines of the AP.)
The media themselves? No. The corporate bean-counters whose only job is to Make Line Go Up and are salivating over the idea of TV ratings like they got during the first Trump Regime? Absolutely.

Oh they are. trump makes headlines, Biden doesnt. The Mainstream media is buying into the GOPs big lies about “the economy is terrible” and “crime is out of control”. But are totally wrong, but “Economy is great” and “Crime is way down” dont sell ads.
