I think this is a losing strategy. Because when Biden was the presumptive nominee and looking a little past his prime, i reassured myself that Reagan had been pretty effective Even after he was quite senile. And i have to think that voters who are afraid that the Democrats will push a dangerous agenda, regulating industry into knots, opening the floodgates to dangerous immigrants, and pushing a woke socialist agenda will tell themselves much the same thing.
To win, Harris needs to have a positive message that reassures moderate voters. She can’t just rely on “Trump is a senile old man”. That will help on the fringes, but it’s not enough.
There does seem to be a lot of evidence in this thread that Trump is a senile old man, though.

This Atlantic article explains the challenge of reporting speeches which lack coherence. It is a double standard, compared to how Biden’s debate was reported.
What I would find very concerning if I cared about Trump, is when he gets hung up on a word, seems to lose track of what he was saying, and quickly switches gears to talk about something completely unrelated.

It’s funny you say that because one of the few tactics that I’ve found successful with MAGA friends and family in real life is to ask:
Would you want to work for him? Would you want him working for you? Would you want to be married to him? Would you want your daughter to marry him? Would you like him as your next door neighbor?
With someone you know personally, who doesn’t want to outright lie to you, it almost always gets one of those demurring non answers.

On one hand it’s kind of refreshing to find out Trump wasn’t deliberately lying for a change. On the other hand the fact that he can’t correctly recall the incident doesn’t bode well for his mental state at all.
This may however not be evidence of decline. He was in the helicopter with a Black male politician and his baseline function probably confused them all together. No joke there.
