Spousal abuse is a complicated thing. Even if she’s mean to him, she may also tell him she loves and needs him. There’s a reason so many people stay with abusive partners.

Admittedly Japanese largely = crazy.
Misogynistic? No.
I only find it creepy because I find small, non-breathing dolls extremely creepy.
But seriously, if a fuck-doll could save marriages (differing sex drives), offer someone with no social skills sexual relief, or prevent a rape (all of which I feel are possible consequences)? Free Real Dolls for everyone! I will pay for them with my taxes!
Do they make a cabbage patch version?
Please dont turn me in
Wasn’t there a GD about this (providing childlike dolls to pedos)?
I wish I could remember the comic who said it, but he really hit on something when he said: “Women want to fuck. The problem is, they all want to fuck the same guy.” I know I’ve witnessed that men seem to become more attractive to women when they’re in a relationship than when they are not.
I have no desire to fuck a Real Doll myself, but I can understand the appeal of having a life-sized “companion”. What’s the harm in anthropomorphizing a doll? People do that all the time with inanimate objects like regular sized dolls, “action figures”, teddy bears, etc (to say nothing of assigning human needs and emotions to pets). My acquaintance (who has appeared in one TV program on the dolls) uses his as a stand-in for other human beings - one that he can ignore when he needs without it getting offended. A completely solitary life is ultimately harmful to human beings, and a pretend human is better than no human at all. “Wilson” in Cast Away seemed to be a very understandable representation of how a person in complete isolation would construct something to interact with. I’m sure Tom Hanks’ character would have appreciated a Real Doll crate washing up on his beach.
If you go to the site, you’ll find people who make custom versions. I’m sure they’ll make you a Cabbage Patch one if you want (you sicko). Or a Precious Moments one. Or a Muppet one…
I wanna Barney one…or maybe a Sponge Bob…though I guess Strawberry Shortcake has always been asking for it.
As a double aside…I actually toured the Cabbage patch museum/birthing hospital/concentration camp. Thats gotta be about weirdest/creepiest place I’ve ever visited.
They have a Cabbage patch CONCENTRATION CAMP?
Hot fembots! Hallelujah!. I’m all for. Although I’ll be waiting a few versions. The current versions look like DOS 1.0. I want the OSX Snow Leopard version.
Am I the only one getting Michelle Obama collectible doll ads?!
My opinion, as a woman: au contrare. If all the jerks who already see sex as a form of masturbation, and who aren’t interested in talking to a woman unless she’s going to have sex with them within the next two hours, can make themselves happy playing with a giant masturbatory aid, that’s going to make life so much more pleasant for the rest of us.
Also, once they perfect the mass-market sexbot I want the “pretty doe-eyed boy” version. To go with my girlporn stash.
No
hubba hubba…bow chicka bow wow
In your as-a-woman opinion, is that – what, eight percent of the males? Or eighteen percent of the males? Or eighty percent of the males?
I once bought someone a plush Cthulhu… that and the Teddy Babes thing mentioned have caused a very disturbing mental image… which I’m now happy to share.
That’s a funny application of a Turing Test. I like it.
This makes me wonder: If they perfect these things, will it be legal to make an 11-year old girl version?
On one hand, it means some pedophiles can get their jollies without harming actual 11-year olds. On the other hand, ewww.
A few thoughts related to what has been brought up in this thread:
[ol]
[li]To answer the OP: No, it is not misogynist[/li][li]A dildo is not the same as these things, since these things look like (or attempt to look like) humans. I can see how someone can think dildos are OK but these things are creepy (both male and female versions)[/li][li]When a guy masturbates/uses sex toys, it has the tint of “loser” since it implies that he is not a successful male in this society. When a woman masturbates/uses sex toys is does not have that tint. Not sure why. [/li]
Maybe it’s because men are supposed to be the “conquerors” who win women over, and not being able to do so means that they have failed in their society-defined role. Maybe it’s because there is the idea/myth that women can have sex any time they want to, and if they masturbate/use sex toys, it’s because they choose to do so, not because of their inability to find someone to have sex with
[li]It’s good if these things help some men who can’t find women to have sex with, but the overwhelming feeling I get is sadness for these guys.[/li][/ol]
So what you’re saying is, you’d rather I get it on with an actual little kid than risk yourself getting squicked by seeing one of them on the store shelves?
