Some of my family members are just starting to venture out onto the internet to buy things - they’re faily confident with the well-known sites, but sometimes ask me to sniff out whether some less-well-known online store is legit. usually, I’ll have heard of it anyway, or will have used it myself - on one occasion, I advised against using a site because my gut feeling was that it couldn’t quite be trusted (no contact details at all except an email address)
Anyway, my sister asked me to check out yesasia.com. It’s an Amazon clone that for one reason or another, I’ve never heard of before. There seem to be a few relevant google hits when I search for the name in conjunction with the words ‘scam’ or ‘fraud’, but not really all that many.
Have any dopers used it and found it OK, or heard that it is not to be trusted?
Thanks for that - looks like they are for real, but there’s also enough there to warn me off using them - they want a scanned copy of both sides of your credit card and/or a scanned copy of your CC statement? WTflamingF?
I know many people who have ordered products from yesasia.com and have been very satisfied. Much of the music they offer is less expensive than other importers.
I have never bought anything from them, but I’m a big Japan geek, and many large, reputable sites will display prominent ads for YesAsia. That’s not proof of worth in any sense of the word, but it’s something positive I would think.
