However, I heard from more than one ex of his that it was absolutely no fun at all, and that was quite a consolation.

A solid 7" under normal arousal. Tends to get bigger with prolonged usage. My girlfriend says I’m “big, but not porn star big.” Which is fine by me. 
I haven’t measured it (and I’m at work right now, so I’m not going to do it now) but I have the word of a professional that I’m larger than average. I don’t think she’d have lied; I’d already given her the money.

My guess: go along the side since the change in angle from shaft to bag is greater, providing a more discernible boundary.

I don’t know if you’re serious, but that’s completely wrong. Like every other aspect of televised fiction, the penises they’ve selected for you to see on their show were not chosen randomly.
