Isn't it time for Mornington Crescent?

Hanger Lane

MC in 6.

Don’t get cocky like I did.

Forced by superior brilliance into Waterloo - so many links, I’m sorry. I’ve read everything I could in the last few hours on the backtrack rule but there’s nothing else I can play - he has forced my hand. Still amazed by RickJay spotting it.

Tokens? TOKENS!? I don’t need no stinkin’ tokens! Bakerloo line to ----oh.

I see.

I had not read ahead, but now I see that RickJay has submitted Neasden.

I am outplayed, sir. My felicitations.

Embankment.

And for Bricker; Yeah, you’re right. Antinoro1’s use of backtrack did make that possible, albeit in a circuitous way. But as you know, when you’re playing against experienced, skilled players, only aggression in the endgame will get you anywhere, and that means making hay while the sun shines.

I quote the great Varga in his magnum opus on the subject, Twelve Laws for Winning Morning Crescent; “Use your opponent’s moves against him just as a frog catches a fly by its wings with the sticky end of his tongue.” It does read a lot better in the original Hungarian.

West Brompton. Come on guys, help me out! You may think RickJay has it all wrapped up, but if we can just doodle him with a multi-way District Line Knott, all is not lost!

RickJay says to be aggressive in the End Game, which is true, but to quote the famous MC player Churchill (albeit speaking of a different event than MC), “This is not the end, nor is it even the beginning of the end, but perhaps it is the end of the beginning.”

There’s a LOT of play left in this game yet, and to prove it, I’ll fall back to Psyciewicz’s Manuever, which netted him the Mid_Game Play of the Year in the '56 Mornington Crescent Reports. So…

Goldhawk Road, straddled.

Angel, vulnerable. No help from here, sorry.

Waiting…

High Burnet, Unstrung.

“Barnet.”

Damn my advancing years and small print!

Cutty Sark- gotta love the Pegg Latitude switch back to the DLR. Just when you all thought it was in Knid, too!

Arsenal

Jubilee Line Closure for 4 moves, sans a Bus Pass Play.

Out of my league, but mindbogglingly exciting.

Arsenal? Perfect! That allows me to complete the Royal Armouries Inspection Tour play I’d been waiting this entire game for, which of course finishes at:

Mornington Crescent.

I don’t think anyone’s had a chance to play the RAIT play since the 1949 Pan-Commonwealth event in Mombassa; and even then it was considered daring. But hey, you have to take risks in a game of Mornington Crescent, even a high-calibre (excuse the pun) “Friendly” match such as this!

Wow. That was as brilliant as it was unexpected. Well done sir, an excellent play.

Well done. Good game.

Well played, sir, well played! Again, the Dope shows why it is home to some of the world’s best Crescenter players!

Kudos to Martini Enfield!

(Of course, with that user name, you would expect a RAIT play from him!)
