Israel plays in Europe for football (soccer) purposes because no one in Asia wants to play them. At least not the Arab countries. For World Cup qualifying purposes, Israel used to have play with the teams from Oceania, but Europe has given Israel a home (and a chance for European teams to pick up an easy win).
In 1966, almost all of Asia dropped out of World Cup qualifying because they didn’t want to play against Israel. North Korea bothered to participate and they ended up beating Italy in a match, which pretty much bummed out that country.
