IT IS FINISHED!!!! :D

Oh yes! yes yes yessssss!

Nicky is

  • POTTY TRAINED *

He’s been potty trained at home for over 6 months, but going out and going to school he still wore pull-ups. For the last 2 weeks, he’s been wearing underpants to school. The first day he wet his pants. Every time since, he’s come home in the same clothes he went to school in–dry.

YAY!!!

Congratulations, Opal! Nicky’s growing up!

Whoo hooo! Let’s celebrate with chocolate cake and lemonade. j/k

So when is Nicky going to start dating?

Great news! That must be one hell of a milestone. I can’t imagine the relief of not changing diapers anymore. Cool!

I’ll do double-duty.

  1. A congratulatory hug for Opal, a gold star for Nicky and an exclamation of “Yay! You’re getting so grown up!”

  2. A small pout and a pat on the shoulder for Opal when Nicky’s not looking because “he’s not a baby anymore, is he?” ::sniffle::

WOW!! no diapers what you gonna do with all that money your saving now??

Congrats. My daughter had a few ‘accidents’ last fall, and it was more to do with the school, which she no longer liked. New preschool, no accidents.

Congrats, felicitations and cheers to both Opal and Nicky. It is a mile marker for both of you.

Opal, take 2 steps back, 3 deep breaths and reflect. For all you’re so hard on yourself, there is nothing, NOTHING harder, more positive or more lasting than rearing loved, secure kids. You’re a great mother, and I can’t honestly think of a higher or more meaningful compliment.

Oh…and the sign of “independence” is a true benchmark for doing it RIGHT. The highest goal around is help kids grow and let them turn into themselves.

You rock.

Rah!

Congrats Opalcat!! (sniff :() still chasing hyper 2 1/2-year old Babypony #1 with potty trainer. Babypony #2 due in August and I don’t wanna get stuck with two sets of diapers! Anybody got suggestions??

Congrats, Opal & Nicky! That is so great!

Bluepony: I was gonna ask the same question. My daughter is three, and while she’s getting really, really good at going potty, she’s not quite all the way there yet. You might end up like me, and have two kids in diapers for a while. My son will be six months old next week.

One thing I did notice was that my daughter got much better at using the potty after we brought the baby home. I think that after seeing us change a few of his diapers, she made the connection that diapers are for “babies,” and she’s a “big girl.” Whatever works!

Congratulations Opal!! Way to grow Nicky

:frowning: Sorry Bluepony, no advice. #one might regress a tad anyway, if ya’ll managed to get them potty trained before #2’s arrival anyway, at least reassure yourself of that!
