A “health teacher”. He maintains he knows best when it comes to the efficacy of vaccines. -
IR health teacher speaks out against vaccines
Mitchell insists he teaches to the curriculum set by the state and local school boards. But when his students approach him with questions about vaccines, he’ll address them without giving his opinion, he said, adding he uses the school board meetings and talk radio to do that.
“You have to parse your words,” he said about his classroom activity. “I’m not going to come down and say, ‘no you certainly should not get the flu shot, no you certainly should not get the Gardasil shot’, but we will have an intelligent conversation and we’ll talk about some of the the good and the bad.”
The flu and Gardasil shots are offered at wellness centers at the Indian River School District’s two high schools that are operated by the state’s Department of Public Health and contracted out to healthcare professionals. Wellness centers have been at Indian River and Sussex Central high schools since September 1999, according to Dr. Martin Luta, chief of the bureau of communicable diseases for the Delaware Department of Public Health.
But Mitchell is convinced he’s right. He calls himself a “recent convert” when it comes to his beliefs on vaccinations. He doesn’t remember how or why his beliefs changed, but it took place about four or five years ago, he said. Now, he wants to spread public awareness.
“The science is on my side," he said to the school board. "Flu shots make you more likely to get sick. Gardasil makes you more likely to get HPV.”

Awwww, he’s just teaching the controversy! :dubious:
Too bad the reporter didn’t press him on what those OK vaccines supposedly are, and why they’re any less “incredibly toxic” than flu and HPV shots.
Probably that qualifier was a ploy to show that “see, I’m not antivaccine”. :dubious:
I know when I was in school the person who taught the Health class was the gym teacher. Not exactly someone with any special domain knowledge.
Really living up to that “slower lower” stereotype.
Yeah, my 7th grade SCIENCE teacher thought sound was faster than light…true story…
Teachers really need to keep their opinions to themselves - especially politics.

The alternatives are spreading the actual disease for what the vaccination was designed-lets start a world wide spread of (insert virtually eradicated disease)
Yeah lets do that.
Never mind the studies that dont exist that would prove their hypothesis-??
My high school, too.
And it was the dumbest gym teacher, to boot. Among other things, he told us that “condrums” didn’t really prevent AIDS.
Yup. Slower Lower for the…win?
