"It" Sighting Report

5:30 PM, July 15 in lower Manhattan. On the west sidewalk of Broadway near Park Place.

The operator was none other than Dean Kamen himself. (I recognized him from the Today Show.)

He looked pretty stupid, but I suppose the automobile, the walkman, and the hula hoop all looked pretty stupid at first.

Pretty commonplace in Atlanta considering the police department has a few of them under contract. I see cops on these more often than cops riding horses or bikes.

I think this thing is the most ridiculous waste of time ever invented. I mean I can see it for injured or people who cant walk or with health problems, oka but there is absolutely ZERO reason for a perfectly healthy perspn to use this machine.

Americans are out of shape as it is. If you want to get around faster, but want to save energy, ride a bike. Just what we need- a bunch of chubby couch potatoes riding around on dorkmobiles to the local bar.

dorkmobiles.
LOL.

Vinnie wins a cookie.

I see it as being the cool thing for old people.

I envision a particular local attorney (who died last year in his late 70’s but was working until almost the end) using it as a mobility device, zooming around the courtroom on a mobile podium, offering a much more striking presence than a bent-legged old man who could barely stand upright using a cane.

So much of the courtroom is theatrical. “IT” could be a great theatrical device.

I thought I saw a tuft of red hair sticking out from the sewer entrance on the curb. I ran away.

What? “It,” not “IT”? Phooey.
