Could you help her understand that she’s not the one causing trouble if it does escalate to lawsuit territory. The person or persons causing the trouble are the harasser and the supervisors who ignored the harassment.
She has contacted an attorney, but right now she’s focusing on finding another job.
Glad to hear she’s talked to an attorney. The “downsizing” thing is, of course, bullcrap. A good attorney will find out about the company feeling so suddenly COMPELLED to:
- downsize someone they just hired
- whether they downsized only HER position
- if the company suddenly find themselves feeling compelled in a short time to “upsize” again by hiring someone (or even advertising to hire someone) new for her job or any job similar to hers.
Downsizing doesn’t mean what they are trying to make it mean. Go, Ivygirl!
(I’m not an attorney and don’t even play one on tv.)
Since the OP’s daughter is looking into getting legal advice, I’m closing this thread at the OP’s request.
