Flytrap, no crunchy frog? (N.O.C.F.)
Tomorrow is my last day of work. Today was the last day for the kids. I really don’t feel much at all about it ending. I’m kind of in a weird place right now. I have an interview in a town that I’d very much like to live in on Monday. As a matter of fact, I’m cancelling another interview scheduled for Monday and replacing it for the one that just called me tonight. Then I have a different one scheduled way far away on Tuesday. Still not sure if I want to go to that one or not. It’s about a 4 hour drive and not really any closer to RT’s children. It would be a job that interests me, though.
What I’m really hoping for is that I’ll get called back by the last place that interviewed me for a second interview causing me to conveniently have to cancel my Tuesday plans. That would be very nice. We shall see. I’ve also got a show next Saturday so at least I’ll be keeping busy for a little while.
swampy, I like the way you think. You can go cloud gazing with me any time.
Got a few things caught up and cleaned up in the studio this evenin. Did the sketches for the group project I’ll be leading later this month. Kicked around plans for the trip to Mississippi at the end of the month with the friend I’m going with. Now it’s time to brush my teeth and de-wrinkle for bed. Night all.
I usually find that my times are slower, but also that I don’t give a crap.
What does it mean, “de-wrinkle”?
In between Mrs. Plant (v.1.0) and (v.2.0), I dated a woman who lived inTull, Arkansas.
I understand that the primitive highway with several one lane bridges crossing the Saline river and it’s tributaries has been replaced.
At any rate, during the Age of the Dinosaurs, Grant county was dry, meaning liquor could not be sold.
Guys would drive to another county for their beer run, and drive back across one lane bridges, having sampled their cargo, at an average speed of 70 M.P.H. Just when I was driving home on Saturday night.
It was a harrowing, even sobering experience for me, if not for them.
Is it weird that my new favorite game site is a Dictionary site?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 94 and possibly rain for the day. We shall see.
Nurse! That looks like a site where I could [del]waste hours and hours[/del] improve my vocabulary.
Ok that’s all I got for now. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. 'Tis payday so this means I’ll probably get whiny calls from people who didn’t get paid because timesheets were turned in too late. They’ll get paid in the supplemental payroll next week, but still they shall whine. Oh well, at least it’s Firday.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, off to work. I gotta stop at the feed store on the way home, since Gordie is almost out of food.
Higgs let us sleep till a bit after 6, but that was it. **FCD **is in the shower now, and I’ll take my turn shortly. That’s as much of my day as I have planned. It’s nice and cool so far, which is a good way to start.
So, Happy Firday!!
Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to at least keep up on reading, but haven’t gotten to post. Am putting together pics for my cousin to use in a birthday video for my Mom and also an album that my niece and I are putting together. Brother and nephew are both gone right now, so I should, theoretically have lots more time, but pictures are a huge time suck. I foresee lots of Throwback Thursdays in my future.
Loved the bear stories, by the way. Made me go  several times.
Good luck with all those interviews, Sticky.
rosie’s sig to everyone else I missed.
Hugs all.
GT
Happy Firday!
It looks to be a sunny day, only 61 degrees now with a high of 78 predicted.
I don’t know what I’m doing besides getting an echo cardiogram this morning, I’m supposed to go look at houses this evening but after yesterdays test results I don’t know what I am going to do.
I made a mistake with the MRI and let them put me in head first. I wasn’t even all the way in and I was starting to panic and feel like I couldn’t breathe. The nice tech brought me out and let me turn around and go in feet first. Much better.
Anyway I’m off to my test, I’ll catch up with what is going on with y’all when I get back.
That is a real thing, you know.
I woke up to hissing and meowing. The baby cats are trying to befriend Lii’ and she wants no part of it. She came into the bedroom to “tell on them.”
They like her food better than their own.
Hubby is tired of being in pain. I put an ice pack on him, that’s all I can do for now. He had his pain meds a little while ago. He’s tired of the sling/splint, even though the shoulder feels better when he wears it.
He’s doing more than he should, and I can’t stop him.
I’m going back to bed.
**Nurse **- I’m pretty sure it’s a “guy thing.” My spousal unit will keep doing stuff long after he’s in pain, then collapse on the couch and talk about how much he hurts. When he had his various spinal surgeries, he wouldn’t follow the Dr’s instructions, then he complained about the pain. He tells me his hands go to sleep because of the way he lies in bed, but he can’t possibly consider lying in a different position. Now I just nod and go on with life. It’s hard to be sympathetic when he does it to himself. And knowing his folks, I know where he gets it…
We’ll be headed to Annapolis in a little while. There’s a really cool art supply store there that has just about anything you’d want, and **FCD **needs some stuff for his airbrushing. That’ll kill a few hours.
If a guy says he hurts, he is Near Death.
We usually avoid making known that we hurt, indeed, conceal it lest we be judged not tough enough for women to want us around to protect their person and offspring from saber toothed tigers, rogue elephants and insurance salesmen.
flytrap you forgot spiders. I learned “the man should always kill the spider” from Designing Women.
It’s been almost two hours and no whineage yet. This is movin’ into miracle territory.
flytrap, de-wrinkle is kind of like pre-purtification for those of us of a certain age. It helps plump out our wrinkles so’s we don’t frighten our partners, small children and critters when we first wake up.
gt, you photo project sounds right up my alley. Working with family pictures gives more dimension even to folks we know well.
Irk is slow and I’ll likely knock off early. Got to get up early to help clean up a creek bank with a local group. The fun part will be getting together after at one of Nashville’s classic, old-school former truckstop restraunts. I haven’t been there since living in that part of town twenty years ago.
I take them to a place of safety outside.
They kill bugs, and, at the risk of repeating myself, are just trying to make a living.
Blurfity Blurf.
Hmm, apparently my tablet thinks ‘Blurf’ should be capitalised. Interesting.
I’m off the 12 hour night shifts, hooray! And I’m not doing a 14 hour one tomorrrow, also hooray! Though I do have a short shift tonight, starting 5.30 despite only finishing the last one at 8 ayy emm. Hence the Blurf.
Maybe a shower will wake me up, the coffee doesn’t seem to be having much effect yet.
Happy… umm… is it firday? I’m losing track…
