I was [del]completely cut off from the outside world[/del] without internet, phone, or TV for 3 hours this morning!
No, it’s a “gal” thing too. My wife will ignore most of what a doctor tells her and then complain that she’s not healing fast enough. So there pfffft!
One of the owners here at Technical Thingies brought his newest toy to work. It’s an almost perfect 1970 Chevelle Malibu - the exact same model that was my very first car back in 1979. I can’t stop myself from going out into the parking lot and staring at it. I even took a picture of it, and posted it with my friends from back then (those I still keep in touch with) tagged.
The calendar says Friday, so I’ll go with that. My own sense of time is a mess lately, too, due to not having the same schedule any two days.
N.O.L.time! I’m munchin’ on a sammich and some chips whilst surfin’. I’m all by myself in the orifice (well, in my little part of the place) so it’s the perfect time to surf and munch.
Rosie quelle horreur!
Tish! You spoke French! ::grabs swampy’s arm and tries to kiss it, in spite of him pulling away violently::
I can tell already this is going to be quite a day. Scrambled to get to irk in time to start @ 10. I wasn’t due to clock in until 10:30.
So I’m upset and I know I shouldn’t be upset because until the doctors run more tests nothing is definite but the doctor I saw yesterday referred me to an oncologist whose office just called me to make the appointment and I’m scared out of my mind today.
Part of me doesn’t want to say anything because if it turns out to be nothing then I will feel stupid for saying anything and I really suspect it will be nothing.
I don’t know if I should put house hunting on hold.
I’m going looking today anyway. I need to get out of here.
Back from Annapolis. **FCD **got his art supplies, and we stopped at Friendly’s for lunch. We should have gone somewhere else. The food was extremely mediocre and the service sucked.
The house is still open - it’s lovely and mild out - yay! But I’m exhausted. This staying up late watching TV and getting up at 6 is getting old. I need to go to bed earlier.
Sari - don’t put anything on hold while you’re waiting for your appointment. I’m not talking about denial of a known problem, but you can’t freeze up because of a mere potential. Be like that duck that Kris Kristofferson talks about in the movie “Convoy” - look smooth and calm on the surface, but paddle like hell below the surface.
Mom - The last time I was at a Friendly’s was many years ago. A bunch of us went there for Sunday brunch. Our waitress got maple syrup on two of her fingers, so she put that hand in one of the water glasses on the table to wash off the syrup. I will never go there again, even considering they have a dessert called “The Happy Ending”.
First, wow what a scary yet captivating Bear story, kai! I just cannot even imagine what it would be like to come that close to a Kodiak bear!
Sorry that I’ve been just lurking - it’s been a busy week for me this week, and it’s also HOT here in NM, so between the heat and trips out in the mornings, I’ve just been wiped. I have been reading though. Good luck on all your appts., Sari, I hope everything turns out okay for you. Rosie, isn’t it surprising just how much our lives are tuned into television, the Internet, and the phone?! It’s bad enough doing without just one for a while, but all three?! Ye gads! LOL I know there are more things to comment on, but now I can’t remember them…grr!
One of the places we went this week was Walmart (d’oh!); I’m getting more adept at operating the motorized scooters there. LOL You have to understand, I don’t have a drivers license, so it’s hard for me to judge just doing basic turns, etc. I guess it’s somewhat comical, but my gosh, I’ve run into a couple of displays there - fortunately nothing serious. This time I only had two minor collisions. Whew! Another trip was to the grocery store. I was looking for something in particular and had been up and down the aisle where I thought it might be, with no results. I got to the end of that aisle, and looked briefly at the bottom couple of shelves on the endcap there, didn’t see what I wanted, so called a store employee over. She said they had what I wanted but it was on another aisle, so she went there to get some for me. She came back empty handed, but laughed as she pointed me to the top shelf on the endcap - there was the product that I wanted! We both laughed about it, and the store employee graciously accepted my apologies. I also finally found some of the Canada Dry ginger ale Ten soda, so am going to see how that tastes. I’ve pretty much curtailed soda drinking, but if this Ten stuff tastes good, at least there will be a soda that I can drink again every once in a while.
Well, I hope everyone has a good Firday today. Today is a rest day for me, cause it’s back on another trip out tomorrow.
{{{sari}}} like Sean said, keep on doin’ what you need to do. Right now all that’s happenin’ is gettin’ something checked out. Never a bad thing. I can understand bein’ kinda scared though. You got a buncha internet strangers who love ya and care about ya right here and you can say or talk about anything here. OK?
Sean ICK! MOOOOOOM and you just re-reminded me why I don’t like Friendly’s.
I killded the MMP again!
Howdy from da cave! Leftover sketties for dindin. Let the weekend begin!
We’re going into Leonardtown tonight for the opening night of Raiders and Invaders. So, supper will be salmon, cuke salad, and who knows what else. Then we’ll go walk around for a while. A nice way to end the day, I think.
Dindin is et. Watermelon for later. Life is good.
I guess you couldn’t find a ladder or there would have been other fruit. ![]()

Today has been kind of sucky here. I am looking forward to getting to see the neurologist next week. I feel like my world is getting smaller and smaller and not in a good way.
The good news is that RT will be home in the morning. He’s only about 2 hours away, but he ran out of time to drive in.
 ::taps foot::  ::clears throat::
We went to breakfast at Denny’s (home of the Grand Slam breakfast) with my cousins. They drop the word ‘grand’ from the receipt. The bill comes, my sister picks it up & looks at it & proclaims, “We just got slammed at Denny’s” ![]()
flytrap here’s your [del]dinner[/del] chance to be a man.
And on that note I do believe I am bein’ beckoned to come into the bedroom to watch teevee and ummm… stuff.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Perhaps I shall reconsider my spider rescue habits.
Run that by again? ![]()
