I dunno - the kind that flies? So, not penguins or emus or ostriches or chicken. I think it might have been brown - when **FCD **spooked it, it was just a blur as it flew off. If it’s not a cardinal, a blue jay or a robin, I probably just call it a bird.
Good morning! According to the thermometer outside the garage, it never got out of the 70s last night. We did get some rain overnight and there’s still a chance of a bit more this morning. It definitely feels muggy out there. ugh.
We’re going to the gym this morning - we keep slipping with our resolution to go every other day. But we do get a workout with our little chores at home, so there’s that.
I got my latest afghan all assembled last night - all that remains is to do the edging, then wash the 2 afghans and 2 shawls so I can take them to my mother next week. And I need to organize all the scraps of yarn that are entangled in a great big bag. Partial skeins can go by color in my yarn rack, and the smaller balls of yarn will be wound together to make giant, miscellaneous balls which will become random-colored scarves or afghans. It’s therapeutic.
Other than the gym and checking the camper to see if it leaked, we’ve got nothing specific planned. Maybe I’ll have some studio time?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out and muggy with a predicted high of 93 for the day. The weather PTB say we have a fifty to sixty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse Sattidy and Sunday. They said the same thing for last weekend. We shall see.
MOOOOOOM we have a nest of swallows under an eave at the church house every year. This year’s version are gettin’ quite big and look like they’re about ready to leave the nest. Some years we get another one in late Summer. I think it’s cool. The cave before this one had a small roof over the small patio area and a sparrow would roost in it every night. It was (ok is cause the place is still there) a small eave, not big enough for a nest but big enough for shelter for a little birdie each night. I loved it!

Ok, that’s all I got. Need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Rah.

Thunder boomers rolled in about 3:30 in the am and I have been awake ever since. I need an I.V. of caffine STAT! More rain scheduled for this afternoon. At least with the almost regularly scheduled rain that we have gotten, about 1 a week, I haven’t had to water the garden since it was created. I have tomoatoes ripening and my first cuke is developing. My eggplants however are sulking. They refuse to grow. They aren’t dying or anything they just really haven’t changed since I planted them about a month a go. What gives?
Breakfasted, caffeinated, finished with my requisite morning surfing, and spousal unit is still asleep. Actually, I’m glad - he’s had a bad couple of nights, so I’m glad when he can get a good, long sleep. I’d like to join him, but the dog would just wake him up, so I’ll find a game on here to occupy me till I hear the shower come on.
I’m so nice, dammit. 
You could describe it just as accurately by using “chomp.” It’s a visible, audible smacking of their jaws and it’s very indicative of the bear being agitated and sending a signal to warn of such. If you’re there to witness it in person you’re flirtin’ with disaster.
Lord knows how much time I’ve spent watchin’ Mecum. Maybe as much as Chasing Classic Cars. And DC was probably the one to get me started on the genre.
ASS (Austin Speed Shop) needs to up their inventory of XL but I did find something to tide me over. Gots to mow and pull weeds in style, yanno?

I’m getting ready to head out for my tests yuk I know an mri isn’t a big deal but I just wanna go back to bed.

No tornados yet this year. I do have some of a haboob from six months ago if that will do. It was pretty freakin’ cool to stand out there and let it run over me.
That’ll work, I don’t have any of those. I love pictures of unusual weather stuff. Tornadoes and volcanic lightning are my favorites, but not the only things I have in the collection.
This was while driving out to the ranch (an especially ugly little stretch), got hit halfway there. I pulled over and got out of the truck so I could experience the full force. When it was about 50 yards away and I could see dust devils churning and debris flying I started to rethink my decision. It was probably moving at 35 mph, was a wall of cold air and dust made plentiful by years of drought. It was cool but I do miss my hat.
In the first pick you can see the effects of the drought and the coming wind’s got my shirt.

I can’t believe how shoddy a lot of the newer homes in our area are built. It’s like no one even cares to meet minimum standards, and those minimums ain’t that great or sturdy to begin with.
