It's a Friday night and...

Awesome! Just told these kiddo’s here. Best of luck! and smiles your way…

It replaced Television Without Pity. Unfortunately, they just changed the entire format of the website and it isn’t very stable (as well as not intuitive).

When I had my dog Ella, she was mindful about stuff like that. I never was bothered about taking her out because she was very polite about it all.

Me? As soon as I saw a bush or tree I would pee like a racehorse on steroids.

Don’t I know it! Fresh, local seafood is available at several small markets right by the docks, 10 minutes away. Selection is more limited than, say, Seattle or Chesapeake Bay but shrimp are a mainstay and white, pink, and brown species have seasonal population spikes. I’ve loved shrimp sandwiches (fresh white bread, Hellman’s mayo, coarse ground salt, fresh ground black pepper) since I was a kid. Live shrimp is a common bait hereabouts, but toward the end of a day of fishing I’d be almost hoping for no fish bites. Leftover bait that was still alive went straight into a pot of boiling beer for maybe 90 seconds, then shelled and assembled into the freshest and best tasting shrimp sandwich ever made!

Waiting for Johnny Carson to come on, then I’ll probably watch Barney Miller.

Went to the pharmacy to get the fellow’s pain meds. Stopped by the beer store for myself. Someone here recommended Arrogant Bastard recently, so I nabbed a bottle as my “wild card.” (I usually grab a pack of something for myself, something for Tony, and a sample of something that sounds interesting.) Walking in with 3 kinds of beer plus his pain meds makes me feel like the world’s worst enabler.

Mid-post, I developed a lovely nosebleed - side effect of the medicine I’ve taken for my recent upper respiratory crud. Exciting night! But the babies are asleep and all of the 2- and 4-legged critters are fed, and I’m going to try that ale now, because that’s how I roll.

Bayard, The Boy recommends a lot of duct tape on your boat. His nerd squad has won the state cardboard boat competition for 3 years running, based upon the “more duct tape” principle.

And I cooked shrimp with pasta and vegetables for dinner, and a loaf of nice whole grain bread. Pecan pie for dessert.

Still getting used to these new glasses… I read that as “Waiting for Johnny Carson to come home…”

Just about done ensuring the safety of everyone’s snail mail applications. About time to head home, have some Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, and finish overrunning the Russians with my Mongolian Horde.

I learned that duct tape doesn’t stick to cardboard as well as Gorilla Tape. But Gorilla Tape gets expensive. I ended up using both. And lots and lots of Titebond II. I didn’t realize there were state competitions for this. Hmmmmm…

Not sure if I can post direct from Tapatalk, but if so, here’s the vessel:

I call it the USS Misery.

and i ain’t got nobody…

Did a bunch of errands, etc. this afternoon. Pregnant wife didn’t feel like coming along so she stayed home. Picked up Chinese take out. Currently watching hockey (Predators vs. Sharks). Pretty exciting evening.

If you want a really good dog, add some sriracha on top of the PB. Adds a bit of heat and garlic. It’s the only way we eat hot dogs at home.

House is in the messy stage of cleaning . I am reorganizing my kitchen so my sister who is blind can find stuff. Everything is getting scrubbed down. It looks like I did nothing today.

My man child is 12 and has an after school avlctivity and also Friday Night Fun until 9. The dude I live with is at poker. My sis is out so I had a frozen and freezer burnt pizza. Last slice went to man child when H3 walked in the door right now.

My kid…got in took off his shoes had a slice of pizza and turned on MSNBC. … sorry mom your classic rock will always be there… but the election is this year now.

Well, I made up for all of you as I went out tonight to a comedy show. The opener was the best & the middle guy was creepy & uncomfortable bad.
Bayard, do the deck guns fire anything? Confetti cannons maybe?

You’re a day early for Sam Cooke. That will be me tomorrow night, though. I did get paid today, I’m only having dinner with a neighbor & then (hopefully) going to bed early so as to get decent sleep to get up & out around dark:30 for Sunday’s race.

Looks promising! (In the state junior nerd competitions, the vessel must be built in a short time span - 2 hours, generally - with limited supplies. The kids then race row across a large swimming pool. Usually, the most buoyant boat wins. Sometimes sheer athleticism wins, when engineering matches evenly. And that’s my kid’s advantage - he might not be any smarter than his fellow, but he’s fit and has a longer wingspan than his height - helpful for rowing.)

I’m so glad that someone else is joining me in my ear worm misery. My uncle by marriage used to be kind of famous, and covered this song well. It’s a nice song. But it gets stuck in my head. I’m in an awful way.

I just got off work and I’m now home listening to my dogs play, eating cottage cheese and surfing here. I think I’ll hit a game or three of Scramble and then go to bed, but first I wish I had something sweet. Ideas?

Heh…in the first episode of Silicon Valley that I binge-watched last night there was a bit about the guys at a start-up/VC party having “liquid shrimp” hors d’oeuvres.

We made it through the course in 2:16. No leaks! Our time was about in the middle of the pack. It was good fun!

Unfortunately, the guns don’t fire anything.

For this event, we had a few weeks to build. We had a list of materials we could choose from. There were some incredible boats there. I was pretty proud of mine this year, but I’ll have to up my game next time!

Maybe you could outfit it with trawl nets, and catch everybody some shrimp!

Yes, you will!
…& conga rats on not becoming a drowned rat.

Don’t tempt me! I already spent too much on the project as it was!
