(Old) It's a matter of taste in the MMP

Once again I didn’t even have the time to lurk in the MMP this week, so once again I’ve only gone back 24 hours for in-depth reading. One of these days I won’t have to skip four entire days of posts every week…

In addition to still being slammed at work (due to filling in for Quitty McQuitterson), I took Thursday off in order to take HusbandBFF to DC for a prostate biopsy. The doc said his previous test results indicated a 60% chance of cancer; they’ll get the biopsy results in a couple of weeks. :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers: WifeBFF doesn’t drive due to her own health/mobility issues, but she came with us and used a hospital wheelchair while we were there. They were both very glad that I was the one who could take them. They were super supportive when I had my bariatric surgery at the end of 2021; I’m happy I was able to return the favor.

Speaking of my surgery, yesterday morning I had an appointment with the bariatric center: the nurse practitioner was so happy with my weight and recent lab results that I don’t have to go back again for a year (vs in 3-6 months)! Annual follow-ups are a goal I’ve been trying to reach since I had the bypass. And, my surgeon happened to be at the office chatting with the NP when I arrived: I hadn’t seen him since my procedure, so it was nice to get to say hi and thank him.

Yesterday I also got rid of the last of the empty moving boxes that were in my house. :tada: I was able to give all of them away. It was great to finally not have flattened boxes piled up everywhere, and it inspired me to check some other things off my to-do list: I put new bulbs in three ceiling light fixtures and replaced the master bathroom’s “spa” showerhead with a handheld model, and earlier this morning I ordered a replacement kitchen faucet (with my property manager’s permission). The previous tenants installed this weird thing that I don’t like one bit:

Home Depot will do the install: I should hear from them early next week, and the faucet should be delivered on Wednesday. The cleaners will come for the first time on July 6, and I have landscapers coming on July 9 to (finally) prune the large overgrown tree next to the front door. The only big thing left on my list is to hang all of my pictures/artwork, and I plan to start that this weekend. The place actually looks kind of weird without all of the cardboard, but I’ll get used to it.

Time to catch up on some Lego photos…

Here’s the wolf that I finished on Sunday:

And here is the Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci gift-with-purchase set I just got, which I decided to assemble last night because it’s small and didn’t take long at all:

After that one I started building Snoopy’s Doghouse (while thinking of @Kitten_Mitten ). I got through bags 1-4 last night, which included Snoopy and Woodstock:

This afternoon I’ll work on the doghouse. I’m not sure if I’ll finish everything today, but it should be done tomorrow at the latest. For those who want to see bigger/more pictures, here’s a link to my online photo album (in order of completion).

Aside from starting to hang things on the walls, I don’t have a big to-do list or plans this weekend. I see a lot of Lego bricks and The Good Wife episodes in my immediate future, and I’m quite happy about it. I’m also quite happy that this coming Friday is a federal holiday (it’s when Independence Day is observed).

I don’t want to deal with the crap that would come with marrying for money, but I don’t think I’m too old to be adopted by a wealthy family…
